Letter of Hire - Production Manager
A production manager is responsible for organising and overseeing the manufacturing processes of the corporation, and may also be responsible for production-related procurement. Since the quality of the corporation's products is a determining factor in the growth of the business, the person in this position must properly understand their role. Increasingly stringent environmental and health and safety standards have increased the importance of having a production manager.
This letter of hire template provides the main elements to define the rights and obligations of the production manager and the corporation; however, it is presented in a much shorter form than the related Employment Agreement template (C03600).
Letter of Hire - Production Manager
We recommend using this letter of hire when the terms of employment are very straightforward (in contrast to template C03600). In some cases, the letter of hire may also serve as a promise to hire when an employment agreement will be signed at a later date.
It should be noted that in Canada there are no legal provisions requiring an employer and an employee to sign a formal employment agreement. A simple verbal agreement is sufficient to establish the employment relationship. However, a verbal agreement may fail to clearly define the rights and obligations of the parties or provide the legal framework to meet their specific needs.
