This template is drafted to help a company can protect any research findings and intellectual property that involves its employees. The employee undertakes to waive or assign all intellectual property rights the researcher may have in respect of the findings.
Our template includes the following three main elements: 1) a confidentiality undertaking prohibiting any disclosure that might harm the business, and 2) a non-competition undertaking to prevent the employee from offering their services to a competitor.
These elements are also set out in our researcher employment letter (template C02420), which also addresses matters directly related to the researcher's employment, such as their start date, salary, benefits, etc.
